O menino virou mais uma folha do livro e viu um quadro monótono: Um cachorro acorrentado em um quintal, um gato morando em um único telhado e um pássaro preso em uma gaiola. Ele ficou espantado com a falta de movimento:
- Não há vida nesta página!
O cachorro disse:
-Temos medo de ir para as páginas seguintes.
O gato complementou:
- Há uma grande destruição no futuro desta história.
E o pássaro explicou:
- Os cupins que estão roendo as últimas páginas deste livro nos revelaram.
( The final message
The boy turned more a leaf of the book and saw a monotonous picture: A chained dog in a yard, a cat living in a only roof and an arrested bird in a cage. He was amazed at lack of motion:
-There is not life in this page!
The dog said:
-We are afraid to go the next pages.
The cat continued:
-There is a big destruction in the future of this history.
And the bird explained:
-The termites that are gnawing the last pages of this book reveal us.)
